Local Business, Herban Wellness

For the most part I try to stay away from taking any over the counter medications, even if they are deemed “safe.” It’s very rare you will ever see me pop a Tylenol or NyQuil (I won’t go into too much detail as to why)…but all that said, there are times when you need an extra boost or you’re just feeling under the weather… and for those reasons, I have put together this small post which highlights a few key products I keep near and dear.

herban wellnessI am beyond blessed to have a local store called Herban Wellness right in my backyard (okay I lied, it’s about 10 minutes away from home)… This store is located about 15 minutes just east of Seattle in a small city called Kirkland. Kirkland is by far one of my favorite cities on the Eastside; it’s darling area and has a bit of a Laguna beach-vibe going on (it’s located on the water and the streets are lined with small boutiques and yummy cafes) [take a peek] and Herban Wellness is one of those unique little shops.

The owner, Katya Difani has a “deep respect and passion for the natural world and the ongoing dance to achieve balance in health and purpose in life. Having experienced her own chronic health challenges since her teenage years, she can empathize with the health challenges many of us face at points in our lives. Having these experiences and seeing the connection time and again between her physical health and her mental and spiritual state, has helped her to see health as part of a whole system.”  Now how beautiful is that? Not only does she provide amazing advice, she has the educational background to support her work – in 2007 Katya graduated from Baystr University with a B.S. in Herbal Science. Baystr is one of the very few accredited and globally respected institutions that offer natural health and sciences in the World. Once you enter her shop you feel a sense of home, or at peace if you will. A light scent of essential oils and teas welcome you as you shop around. *Bliss*

A few of my favorite Herban Wellness finds:

Cold & Flu Drops – these are a MUST-have. They help fight off any cold, flu, or general head cold. As soon as October nears, I stock up on a big bottle – which will last all season long. I suggest preparing these drops in a glass of hot lemon water to cut the taste; it’s not very good to say the least! But obviously it’s worth it.
Custom Tinctures – Custom tinctures to cure headaches, cramps, digestive issues, etc. Just ask and you shall receive. Katya has a few options pre-made for common problems.
Custom Teas – Katya makes an array of teas with the stockpile of herbs she has! She can custom make them for any aliment you might be having, but she has some already pre-made for the common problems we might face.
Rishi Tea – a wonderful company that makes high-end, quality teas.
Gaia Gas & Bloating Pills –  something to have on hand when you end up eating something that might not always agree with you. With powerful charcoal and fennel seed, these pills promote the absorption of gas and also provide relief to your not-so-happy tummy.
Thymucin – promotes a healthy immune system and function and aids in respiratory health. I use both the Cold & Flu Drops + Thymucin when I start to fall ill.
Essential oils – a wide variety of organic essential oils for your diffusers or aromatherapy needs.
Elderberry Zinc Drops – great to have on hand for mild coughs, sore throats, or as lozenges. I buy these along with my Cold & Flu Drops every year.

All these products are stocked at Herban Wellness (and so many more). So next time you’re in the area, or you are in serious need of a cold/flu remedy, stop by (or order online!) for all your natural health remedies. I know you won’t be disappointed, Katya knows what she’s doing; you are in good hands!

Love & light,
Cristine
